Nesting turtles are best viewed after dark near high tide, from mid November to February. Hatchings are best viewed from January to March between 8pm to 12 midnight. Admission charge applies. For more information phone the Rookery on (07) 4159 1652 or the Visitors Centre on (07) 4153 9289. Coach Tours are available. For more information please inquire at the Centre.

Beaches

Clean sandy beaches and clear warm waters. This best describes the attraction of the Coral Coast beaches. Stretching along the coastline for more than fifty kilometres from Winfield in the north to Coonarr Beach in the south, beaches offer either calm or surf conditions. The beaches support a range of activities including surfing, snokeling, fishing, sailing, ocean walks or four wheel driving.

Mystery Craters

The Mystery Craters are a natural rock formation over 25 million years old. An inexplicable scientific phenomenon, the origins of this peculiar formation continue to baffle geoligists and remain a proclaimed unsolved mystery. Located in the South Kolan district of Burnett Shire, they are an easy 10 minutre drive west from Bundaberg.
